When you have a beautiful picture, you’ll most likely want to frame it and hang it up on the wall for everyone to see. This is simply because a picture frame pulls our focus toward the picture and enhances its magnificence. That is if the frame looks nice. If the frame is damaged, chipped, or broken in any way, it can make the picture seem more mediocre than magnificent.
The same goes for our smiles. Our smiles are wonderful, beautiful things, and they’re framed by our prominent, youthful facial features and smooth skin. But, as we age and expose ourselves to gravity, the sun, and tobacco, our facial frame can start to become damaged, so to speak. In short, we develop wrinkles, lines, and folds that we feel take away from our once-fabulous smiles. If you’ve ever felt like you can’t stop staring at your creased forehead or noticeable frown lines, then it’s time to restore your facial frame.
At True Smile Orthodontics, we are happy to offer BOTOX as a way to help our adult patients rediscover their youthful smiles and facial features. BOTOX is an approved and safe injectable that smooths out deep wrinkles and lines to make you look — and feel — younger once again. Here’s how it works: BOTOX is a neurotoxin, which means that whatever muscles it is injected into, and the muscles around it, are blocked from getting any kind of brain signal to move. This means that your muscles can take a step back and relax, ultimately smoothing out any wrinkles they may have left behind.
BOTOX is also a multi-faced treatment. Not only is it great for patients who are self-conscious about their appearance, particularly about their wrinkles, but it can also help anyone who suffers from other conditions. If you have a sore or tight jaw from a TMJ disorder, are frequently disrupted by headaches or migraines, or sweat excessively in an area, BOTOX is your new best friend.
When you visit Dr. Chris Trockel and Dr. Martin Trockel at our practice, we can have a chat about your concerns and tell you if we think BOTOX can help. If you decide that you want to try BOTOX, your treatment will be short, sweet, and to the point. There is no incision and no stitches. All it takes is a little numbing of the treatment area, a small injection, and you’re done! You are free to leave our office and go about the rest of your day. Results start showing between 24 and 48 hours, and they can last up to four months, which means you’d only need to visit us three times a year!
Fillers
“Wait, you do BOTOX?”
Don’t worry, we get that a lot. And yes, we do offer BOTOX and a variety of other facial injectables. See, we think that teeth are just one part of a beautiful smile, and we want to help you achieve everything you want in your own smile.
BOTOX®
JUVÉDERM®
KYBELLA®
Injectables are used to address a lot of those little tell-tale signs of aging, including fine lines and wrinkles. Over time, our skin produces lower levels of collagen, which in turn leads to skin that is less firm and full-looking. BOTOX and JUVÉDERM are both used to combat the lines that come along with life. We can also help if you’ve been fighting with a stubborn “double” chin. KYBELLA has been approved to destroy fat deposits under the chin.
Our orthodontists are committed to helping you get the smile of your dreams. Injectables are just one of the many tools we have to help you get there. To learn more about injectables like BOTOX, please contact True Smile Orthodontics today. Dr. Chris Trockel and Dr. Martin Trockel are eager to help!
Custom Mouthguards
If your children are involved in any sport, you need to think about a custom mouthguard. Sure, if the sport is football, hockey, lacrosse, ultimate fighting, cliff jumping, skydiving, alligator wrestling, bull riding, or more, of course, you’re going to want a mouthguard. In fact, most leagues might require it.
But the truth is that any time your family is involved in a sport or activity where there is the slightest chance that you could injure your mouth and teeth, you should think about giving our orthodontists, Dr. Chris Trockel and Dr. Martin Trockel, at True Smile Orthodontics a call to talk about custom mouthguards. Yes, you could buy an “off-the-rack” mouthguard at a big box store or sporting goods store, and maybe you would save a little cash, but we will create a customized mouthguard designed specifically to fit you. Not only will it be safer, but it will be more comfortable. So, if you are going out for the soccer team, or something a little more esoteric like javelin-catching (good luck with that, BTW), come see us first. Your mouth will thank you.
Retainers
It’s been a long road, but the big day is finally here: you’re getting your braces off! No more adjustments! No more floss threaders! No more guilt associated with sneaking tortilla chips!
Getting your braces off really is something to celebrate. But your ortho treatment isn’t over yet. There’s still one more step, and it might be the most important one: retention.
Without effectively retaining teeth in their new, improved positions, the time you spend in braces might all be for nothing. About 25 percent of ortho patients end up needing retreatment because they didn’t wear their retainers properly. That’s why Drs. Chris and Martin provide each patient with a custom retainer after the main portion of treatment is finished.
Your retainer will become your new best friend. You’ll initially need to wear it around the clock, only taking it out to eat and clean your teeth. In time, you’ll be able to leave it out during the day, but you should still sleep with it in place every night. And don’t forget to clean it regularly!
Smile Protection Plan
With the proper care, your retainer can last up to ten years. Following our instructions on how to care for and store your retainer will help. Always having your case with you comes in handy if you need to take your retainer out. And remember: retainers are easy to lose, are a favorite chew toy for dogs, and are expensive to replace!
Benefits of Retainers:
You will keep the smile you have worked so hard to achieve.
You can use your retainer as a whitening tray if you need to.
Your retainer can do double duty as a night guard, if necessary.
Our clear retainers are virtually unnoticeable.
As durable as retainers are made to be, we know accidents happen and retainers can get lost, broken, or become discolored over the years. Our Smile Protection Plan covers four sets of replacement retainers — a $1200 value for only $699!
Smiling triggers the release of endorphins, which are natural mood lifters. It also reduces stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. Additionally, smiling can boost your immune system, lower blood pressure, and increase feelings of happiness and well-being.
